Tree trim
Forestry no longer accepts new tree trim requests. Instead, they trim all overgrown trees block-by-block from June to November. This new process was recommended by the Inspector General’s office to create efficiencies and speed up tree trimming. If there is a downed tree, split tree or limb, or detached limb dangling from a tree, you can contact 3-1-1 or our office to report a tree emergency.
Tree Planting
You can request a tree be planted in the public way in front of your house. Due to high demand, these requests may take 2-3 years to complete. If you’re interested in planting your own tree in the public way, please email info@aldermanmartin.com. A process exists to avoid trees being planted on or damaging underground infrastructure.
Tree Removal
Forestry removes dead and dying trees from the public way. Before removal, an inspector from Forestry will determine whether the tree is dead or dying.
